Ultrabars

Innovative Design

Not just yet another light – UltraBARs have been designed from ground up to meet the needs of your aquarium. Whether you have a reef, or a fish only tank, UltraBARs are ready for the job!

Modular Design

With our unique modular design, light your tank your way! Connect them, spread them, angle them - mount your lights the way your tank needs!

Connect multiple bars together, to form a single long light, or spread them out to save money for lower light requirement tanks. Angle the bars towards the corals to focus light where you need light the most, maximizing efficiency and minimizing spill over light.

Moreover, no need to change your lights every time you switch the tank! Getting an upgrade? Simply add more bars! Downgrading? Remove a few bars!

Multi-Channel

3 Channel control, with diodes ranging from 395nm to 480nm, plus warm whites and cool whites, allow you to configure almost any spectrum you desire!

Each 12″ UltraBAR contains 27 individual 3w diodes. Violet (V) channel contains 395nm, 410nm, 425nm and 440nm diodes; Blue (B) channel contains 450nm, 460nm, and 470nm diodes; White (W) channel contains 480nm, Warm White and Cool White diodes.

Watch your corals glow!

The fluorescent pigments on coral get most excited under lower nanometer spectrums. Ever noticed how corals under certain lights seem to glow more than corals under other lights? Aside from proper nutrition, spectrum is at play! Lights that have lower nanometer diodes will make the corals grow more!

With a third of the diodes dedicated to lower nanometers, as well as the controllability aspect to select separate channel intensities, the glow from your corals will make you the envy of your friends and foes alike!

*Please do not run just the violet channel exclusively over long periods of time. While this channel helps color up corals, in our in-house testing, we have found that very long exposure of this spectrum alone can be detrimental to corals.

No Hot Spots!

With traditional lights, with diodes in a cluster, or even with diodes restricted to "a box", majority of light falls straight down*. Don't believe us? Take a picture of your aquarium from a distance, and you will see the 'beams' of lights. Better yet, if you have access to a PAR meter, take PAR measurements directly under the light, and then on the far sides.

Hot Spot is the spot in your tank with excessive / majority light. This can lead to corals directly under the light getting over exposed to light, with potential bleaching happening, while corals on far sides not getting enough light.

With the diodes being evenly spaced out across the full length of your tank, with the UltraBARs, light is perfectly blended and even throughout the width of your aquarium.

* With cluster and box lights, using a diffuser can help mitigate hot spots to a certain degree, but diffusers also cause a lot of light to be lost — whether by absorption by the diffuser, and/or by spillage out of your aquarium. Don’t just take our word for it! 🙂 Do a quick online search for “loss of light due to diffuser”

Minimal Shadowing!

With traditional lights, typically hobbyists mount the lights in the center of the tank, to try to achieve even coverage -- this can result in a lot of shadowing effect depending on your rockwork, as well as when the corals start growing out.

With UltraBARs, you can mount them towards the edges of your tank, and angle them in, providing light to corals where they normally would not with a traditional light. This help minimize the overall shadowing effect, which helps promote better colors and growth for all your corals — not just the ones on the top!

Moreover, by angling the lights inwards, your plating Acropora corals will have some colors on the underside as well, instead of being brown.
